Honda's VTEC-equipped VFR800 used variable valve timing to deliver docile low-rev manners and dramatic high-rev performance. The 2002 model was the first street bike with Honda's VTEC system, engaging the second pair of intake and exhaust cams above 7,000 rpm for a distinct power character.
