🪑 Recaro Sport / Pelster Classic Bucket Seat
Recaro's original reclining sport seat — variously called the "Pelster", "Sport" or "LX" — was the default performance seat across European manufacturers in the 1970s and 1980s. BMW specified it in the 2002 Turbo; Audi used it in the Quattro UR; Ford fitted it in the Sierra RS Cosworth. Its foam side bolsters and reclining mechanism were interchangeable across all applications because Recaro used a single seat frame with model-specific upholstery. This universality made Recaro the dominant seat supplier to European performance car manufacturers for two decades.
