🔧 Toyota 4A-GE DOHC 16v / 20v Engine
The Toyota 4A-GE was a collaborative design between Toyota and Yamaha Motor Co. — Toyota supplied the block architecture and Yamaha designed the DOHC head geometry. The result was a 1.6-litre four-cylinder that revved to 7,800 rpm and defined the hot-hatch era of the 1980s and 1990s. It powered the AE86 Corolla in 1984, the AW11 MR2 in 1984, and the AE111 Sprinter Trueno in 1995 (the later 20-valve "silvertop" version). All three cars use the same block bore centres, timing belt drive, and accessory belt layout.
