Suzuki Samurai / SJ410
The SJ410 Samurai was Suzuki's first export 4×4 success — sold as the Samurai in the US and the SJ in Europe. Consumer Reports controversially rated it unsafe due to a tendency to roll during sharp cornering; Suzuki contested this and the Samurai became the best-selling imported small 4×4 in America. Its 970cc inline-4 was tiny but adequate.
