🔧 Ford 289 Hi-Po Small-Block V8

The Ford 289ci (4.7L) "Hi-Performance" V8 is the engine that won Le Mans, dominated the SCCA, and launched the Mustang as a performance icon. The 271 hp "K-code" 289 in the 1965 Mustang and the 289 in the original GT40 MkI share the same Windsor small-block architecture — same bore centres, same bellhousing pattern, same water pump and alternator bolt locations. The early Ford Bronco also offered the 289 as an option, making the same V8 available from a lightweight sports car to a 4×4 off-road truck.
