🔧 KTM LC8 1301cc V-Twin Engine
KTM's LC8 (Liquid Cooled 8-valve) V-twin is the engine that established KTM as a premium street motorcycle manufacturer alongside BMW and Ducati. Its 75° V-angle and parallel crankpins give a firing interval that produces the LC8's distinctive exhaust character. The 1290 Super Duke R and the 1290 Adventure R both use the same 1,301cc version of the LC8, producing 180 hp and 173 Nm — the same specifications, two radically different motorcycles. KTM's willingness to use the same engine in a naked hypernaked and a long-range adventure tourer demonstrates the breadth of the LC8 architecture.
