🛑 Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)
Porsche's Ceramic Composite Brake system uses carbon-fibre-reinforced silicon carbide rotors that weigh 50% less than cast iron equivalents. Developed with SGL Carbon, the PCCB is standard on the 918 Spyder and optional on the 911 GT3 and Taycan Turbo S. The reduced unsprung mass improves suspension response measurably; the rotors also operate at higher temperatures without fade. Porsche was the first manufacturer to offer ceramic brakes as a cost option on a road car (Carrera GT, 2003). The same PCCB caliper casting is shared between 911, Taycan, and Panamera Turbo applications.
