⚙️ ZF TraXon 12-Speed Automated Transmission
ZF's TraXon (formerly Astronic) is a 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) used in MAN trucks (branded TipMatic) and Mercedes-Benz Actros (branded PowerShift 3). Both brands use the same ZF-sourced mechanical core with their own software calibration and selector. The TraXon's predictive shifting algorithm uses GPS route data, making it the first mainstream AMT to anticipate corners and gradients rather than simply reacting to current conditions.
