🔧 Peugeot / Citroën XU Engine Family
The PSA XU engine family is the transversely-mounted four-cylinder that powers three generations of Peugeot performance icons. The XU9JA 1.9 8V in the 205 GTI 1.9 (130 hp) and the 306 Rallye (167 hp) use the same bore and stroke in different tune. The 306 GTI-6 uses the XU10J4RS 2.0 16V (167 hp) with a Magneti Marelli injection system. All XU engines share the same block architecture with the same sump, bell housing, and accessory mount points, enabling workshop servicing with a single toolset across Peugeot's entire hot-hatch range.
