🔄 Shimano SLX M7100 12-Speed MTB Drivetrain
Shimano SLX M7100 is the third tier of Shimano's 12-speed mountain bike drivetrain family, positioned for trail bikes in the $2,500–$4,000 segment. It uses the same Hyper Glide+ chain technology as XTR and XT and shares the same 10-51T Micro Spline cassette, making upgrades within the Shimano 12-speed ecosystem straightforward. Merida, Giant, and Trek all specify SLX on their non-top-spec trail bike builds — Giant Trance 2 (one step below the Advanced Pro), Trek Fuel EX 8, and Merida One-Sixty 800 use SLX as the value-tier 12-speed option.
