🖥️ Bosch Motronic Engine Management System
Bosch Motronic, introduced in the 1979 BMW 7-series, was the first combined fuel injection and ignition management computer in a production car. By the 1990s it had been adopted by BMW (M1.3, M3.3.1), Porsche (M2.1 in the 944 S2), and Mercedes-Benz (ME1.0 in the W124), all running variations of the same Bosch hardware platform. The interoperability of sensors, injectors, and wiring loom connectors between these brands reflects Bosch's position as the sole-source ECU supplier to the European performance car industry.
