Ford Cortina Mk1
The original Cortina was Ford's lightweight European family car — designed to weigh under 800 kg to qualify as a "compact." Its body was stiff but light, the engine relatively powerful, and the resulting dynamic quality was praised by motoring journalists. The Lotus Cortina variant with twin-cam engine became a rally legend.
