🔧 Honda B-Series VTEC Engine (B16B / B18C)
Honda's B-series VTEC family represents the pinnacle of naturally aspirated four-cylinder engineering in the 1990s. The B16B in the EK9 Civic Type R (1997) produced 185 hp from 1.6 litres — a specific output record at the time for a naturally aspirated production engine. The B18C(R) in the Integra Type R (1995) produced 200 hp from 1.8 litres using the same DOHC VTEC architecture. Both engines share the same cylinder head design, VTEC rocker-arm geometry, and Helical-cut intake ports — different capacities, one engineering philosophy.
